Rapid infrastructural development in developing countries around the world has fuelled a construction boom. This has increased growth rates in the building products sector, attracting private equity investment. In Eastern Europe, which is experiencing a major refurbishment programme as well as rising consumption and government investment, building product suppliers and distributors have been an important source of private equity activity.
